Dextar
Dextar, l was born and raised in Glasgow, Scotland, and l have been writing and rapping hip hop lyrics since I was 8 years old.
I grew up listening to hip hop artists such Xzibit, Snoop Dogg, Papoose, Paul Wall, The Game, Notorious BIG, tupac and many others.
I first got involved with Hectic Beats after seeing their poster saying that they where on the lookout for up and coming artists and I thought that this would be a good opportunity.
I sent away a demo and finally got a call back from Real A, the founder of Hectic Beats, who thought I was talented and asked me to be part of the album project with many other MC’s.
At first I didn’t really think that there was a Glasgow hip hop scene but after meeting so many talented and lyrical artists I knew that working with them all would be a minted experience, shout out to Aurel for making the crazy beats and Michael for all the mad designs.
I performed my first gig with the crew at langside college, at first I was heavy nervous but I put all that aside and done my thing, we all did really well to get the crowd hyper.
Hectic Beats really is a big opportunity not only for me but for all the other known and unknown artist, songwriters and producers in GLA.
